"Jayden, what do you think you are doing?" Leo hollered. "You brought her to The Ark?" The resident geek and paranoid protector of the underground city stormed up to Jayden. As architect of the underground base, Leo reserved the right to name it after Noah's Ark. "I rescued a fellow believer from the gulag," Jayden retorted. "What did you expect me to do? Let those monsters take her?" "She," Leo jabbed his finger at Ava's forehead, "is not one of us." His head snapped back as he glared at Jayden. "Or have you forgotten?" "That was the past. She's changed," Jayden replied. "She is one of Jezebel's disciples. By bringing her here, you have compromised this base," Leo's face matched his crimson shirt as the vein on his temple popped up. "Send. Her. Back."
